Amsterdam... land of the free... where the coffe shops sell marijuana for you to smoke. A place where you can ask for a capuccino and some pot. Well, those days are about to finish. You will still be able to buy some marijuana at the coffe shops, but you won't be able to smoke it indoors. the new law is aimed to people smoking cigarretes but it will affect those somoking marijuana too.The first coffee shop selling marijuana and hashish opened in the Netherlands in 1972 and they now number more than 800 countrywide. They say they will be affected by this law and their reaction to it has been ranged from utter amazement to concern about what will happen to the three-decade-old tradition in Amsterdam of social pot smoking. One man can really make a difference! oneMen believes in the power of the individual. Throughout the world, there are people actively working to make a difference to their own community. Much of this work never makes the headlines and so remains invisible to the public at large. These are local pioneers who are working on small-scale projects to improve their immediate surroundings. Usually with great courage and perseverance. Using deeds, not words. With immediate and far-reaching effect. OneMen wants to show these pioneers that they are not on their own. They do that by publicising their initiatives on the internet and by giving them practical support. oneMen is only able to do this thanks to regular financial assistance from thousands of individuals and a number of companies. Become a donor to this great cause

Today I thought of letting you all know a little bit about Portuguese Design and some sites that we can find dedicated to it. Portugal has many good designers. You can find some of the best at the Portuguese Design Center. If you want to find some of the best portuguese sites you can surf over to Embaixada - great web design from that little country near the Atlantic, in the left corner of Europe. And in Fashion many names like Fátima Lopes, Luís Buchinho, Ana Salazar - many can be seen in Portugal Fashion

If I signed one deal like this I wouldn't work no more. LeBron James has been considered by many like the new Michael Jordan. I guess Nike thinks that too!

Ok! If you have seen the UEFA Cup final you might have noticed that on the start of the second half a man entered the field, showed a red card to the referee and tried to score a goal to Vitor Baía, FCPorto goalkeeper. That man is Mark Roberts. Know him and all his story in The Streaker.

What a great and entertaining site - PACMAN! It reminds us the 80's, that time when Michael Jackson ruled the musical world and Madonna was just "Like a Virgin". It was produced in Macromedia Flash and reveals some of the many Flash features.

You really have to be lucky in life, even if you are a great superhero. What would the Avengers think of this?

Aleart

The Internet is really a great medium for artists and designers to make their works available to the world. And some do it in a way that can really stun most of us. Some websites are, more than a recollection of thoughts and information, true pieces of art. For example, I consider Aleart a great artistic expression of an artist's vision of the world, or of his own world. It's more than the content, it is all about art.

I'll be presenting here many websites that are just portfolios of some design firms around the world. The guys that think outside the box always come up with fresh ideas to let us know the works that they have done. Today I encountered the site from this design firm Tol23 that have offices in London, New York and Toronto. A clean and somewhat futuristic site with some navigational items that we don't see very often is what made me love this site. And their portfolio is worth seeing because they have built some very interesting sites besides of their corporate website.

Weird Al Yankovic

Well, today I have some time! Just thinking about how the Internet is a great escape from the "real world". When you want to have a time for you, with no problems in your mind, nothing better to do than to turn on your computer, modem, and make your connection to the big WWW. Then you can laugh, watch something that interests you, or just surf radomly without any concern whatsoever.

Today was one of those days. I needed to "go in" a little. Stumbled across this site from a guy that always made me laugh - Weird Al Yankovic - hope you all like it, too. Well, remember that the best is to always have fun with what you are doing. That is what you take from life... See you tomorrow,...maybe....maybe not...
