JustinCase

Product designer René Chavanne developed a modern multi-purpose portable bar last year. JUSTINCASE, as he named it, can be folded, no tools are needed for its set up and take down. Furthermore, it includes all elements for both, professional and private use. JUSTINCASE was awarded with one of the world’s most prestigious prizes for design, the “red dot: best of the best” award, and also the Austrian Design Award for 2005 Adolf Loos Staatspreis fur Design.

JUSTINCASE, the mobile bar, turns into a kind of flight case for transportation. It can be carried by a single person and fits into normal-sized elevators and the average car. JUSTINCASE is ready for use in only 3 minutes. No tools are required for set up. The counter can easily be expanded by additional elements, and the bar can be adjusted to uneven ground by up to 10 cm. JUSTINCASE can be branded according to the client’s corporate design. The perfect light is chosen from a series of overhead lamps.

René Chavanne was born in 1966 and graduated in design at the University of Applied Arts Vienna. After working for the renowned product designer Ron Arad in London, he was a co-founder of the London based design studio “jump”. In 1999 he launched his own studio in Vienna. René Chavanne focuses on innovative design in the field of multifunctional and utility furniture. In October 2005, he was awarded the “Adolf Loos Staatspreis für Design”, the Austrian national design award, for his portable bar.
