Songpull

Songpull is a grassroots project based in original music and is about bringing people together through their love of music. It is an interesting project. Songpull is based off of the old ‘guitar pulls’ of American music history. At guitar pulls artists like Johnny Cash, Bob Dylan and Waylon Jennings would get together and write songs and “pull” the guitar from one another for their turn to sing. But with Songpull, you don’t have to be a music legend, you just have to be inspired and willing to write your own music.

Songpullers have started getting together in cities and towns across the country. From Johnson City, Tennessee to Kansas City, Missouri they’re playing songs to groups big and small in each other’s basements and living rooms. The only thing that makes this remarkable is that they’re video taping it and sharing it with other people like them – like you – on Songpull.com.

It doesn’t matter what kind of background you have in music, even if it’s no background at all. Past Songpullers have been former band front men, doctors, lawyers, cops, Kinko’s desk clerks, unemployed, and everything in-between. Some Songpullers have written songs before, and others are getting up in front of groups of friends and strangers and playing something they’ve written for the first time ever. And the results might surprise you!
