Presidential Comics about Obama and McCain

This one is great! Comics about Obama and McCain! You can find the complete article here:

"The comics went from ideas to production in about a week. “We don’t have a lot of red tape,” Mr. Dunbier said of IDW, a division of the IDT Internet Mobile Group. The small company is dwarfed by publishing giants like DC Comics and Marvel Entertainment. “Larger companies will investigate something for three months and have a number of meetings to decide if it was feasible.”

Mr. Obama’s comic book will be written by Jeff Mariotte, a novelist of supernatural thrillers who has also written other comics and for television. Mr. Mariotte said he had about a month to complete his script. He immediately started reading everything from newspaper articles to Mr. Obama’s books, campaign site and Wikipedia page. “I just read everything I could find that looked authentic. I kept away from the crazy sites.”

The comic focusing on Mr. McCain will be written by Mr. Helfer, a veteran writer and editor in the comic book industry. “I had to see if I could sum up the career of McCain in 28 pages,” said Mr. Helfer, compared to around 110 pages he had to chronicle the life of Ronald Reagan. “To get the amount of information that’s covered in the McCain comic, you have to read at least two of his books,” he said. “It’s the fastest way to get an understanding of who he is.”

The covers of the comics were drawn in about two days by J. Scott Campbell, best known for his work on Gen13, about a group of super-powered teenagers, and Danger Girl, about female spies.

Each cover depicts its presumptive presidential candidate looking skyward. They each have a trace of color outlining their bodies: red, naturally, for Mr. McCain and blue for Mr. Obama.

The comics go on sale Oct. 1 at comic book stores nationwide, and will be available online at presidentialcomics.com."

We've been fans of J. Scott Campbell since Gen13 so it's great to see its art in those presidential covers.
