‘Bahn Fantasies’ - exhibition by Berliner artist Dinah Busse

Two Window Project is proud to present ‘Bahn Fantasies’, a solo exhibition by Berliner artist Dinah Busse. In her newest group of paintings, the artist focuses on the fascinating secret worlds of the Bahn Stations of Berlin where countless people quietly pass through each day. In their silence a treasure trove of private thoughts and apparitions are unfurled in these termini as passengers wait for their train.

With a skillful blending of the figurative, historical rendering and surrealism, she creates her tableaus in these familiar public caverns and pavilions. Busse uses these ‘platforms’ to stage her pictoral fantasies. Culling from the past, present and future, she paints her signature dreamscape worlds. A giant golden chandelier illuminates from above, the shadow of a statuesque bull forms a dark spider creeping down the stairs, wild pigs grazing happily in midtown, all of which are true to Berlin, but in visually rich scenarios as we have not before imagined.

Dinah Busse born in Bad – Saarow, Brandenburg, she moved to Berlin in 1966 to pursue her career in the arts. Involved in both Werkverträge der Künstlerförderung des Senats and Fördervertrag mit dem Kunstverein Friedrichstadt e.V. Her work has been exhibited in galleries in Berlin and Germany since 1984.
