If you want music, dance and drama, Baz Luhrmann's red curtain trilogy provides all that and more. But the master filmmaker has also shown that he can translate his style in an epic portrait of Australia. With his upcoming interpretation of The Great Gatsby, Luhrmann will hopefully dazzle us once more with his eccentric vision; this fifth entry in the [the films of] collection shows Luhrmann's progression and the stories he told in his ever so unique way.

[the films of] is a new series by Kees van Dijkhuizen, which will be focussing on one inspiring filmmaker every month, visualising their variety and progression through the years.
