To celebrate Mandela Day on July 18th, Lalela Project, a local organisation focused on empowering disadvantaged youth through the arts, launched an action campaign to address racism between two communities of Hout Bay, Imizamo Yethu, a black community, and Hamberg, a coloured community.
The organisation was inspired by a global photographic art project called INSIDE OUT, which aims to bridge racial and religious divides and bring communities together.
