Rtist’s - a gallery located in in Prahran - first show for 2012 was something a little different from their usual affairs, with works of comic book art by David Yardin being displayed and a live event with graffiti artists Shem and Sirum painting up the back wall outside the gallery. The whole show tries to catch our attention to the similarities between the two cultures - comic book art and graffiti. Comic book art has and still does have its influences in graffiti and its clear to see why - bold outlines, shading, shadows and "lighting" are huge staples of both art forms.
This show ended yesterday.
