Barack Obama and Spider-Man in Amazing Spider-Man nr. 583

To celebrate the upcoming inauguration of Barack Obama on 21st January, Marvel will present an all-new story teaming up President-Elect Obama and Spider-Man in "Spidey Meets the President!"

Written by Zeb Wells with art by Todd Nauck and Frank D'Armata, the story takes place in Washington, D.C. on Inauguration Day and finds one of Spider-Man's oldest foes (the Chameleon) attempting to thwart the swearing in ceremony of the 44th President of the United States.

Fans can read it in its entirety in Marvel Comics' AMAZING SPIDER-MAN #583, available in comic book shops nationwide, tomorrow, on January 14th, 2009. Look for the special variant cover by artist Phil Jimenez featuring the President-Elect and Spider-Man!

The demand for the book has been so great that many comic book stores are already selling out of BOTH COVERS of Amazing Spider-Man #583 — featuring an appearance by President Elect Obama — and and the book doesn’t even come out until tomorrow! 2nd printing should arrive later this month (21st or 29th January).
